POSITION: Long-Term Substitute for Grade 7 Math Teacher
Putnam Middle School is seeking an innovative and motivated Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher for 7th grade. The ideal candidate will creatively and collaboratively inspire a love of mathematics and problem-solving, delivering high-quality instruction that supports student achievement and critical thinking. We are looking for an educator who can build a caring, supportive classroom environment that helps each student reach their potential while exploring the complexities of mathematical concepts.

Duties & Responsibilities
Instructional Design: Design and implement engaging lessons in line with grade-level curriculum and state standards.
Classroom Culture: Foster a classroom environment built on mutual respect, intellectual curiosity, and inclusivity.
Collaboration: Work closely with the 7th-grade team to support interdisciplinary learning and holistic student well-being.
Data-Driven Practice: Utilize assessment data to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of all learners.
Communication: Maintain open and professional communication with students, families, and administration.
Minimum Qualifications- Certification: Valid CT Teaching License/Certificate with appropriate endorsement (029 or 229), or eligibility for certification.
- Experience: Previous middle school classroom teaching experience preferred.

Start DateAnticipated to be August 27, 2026 – November 24, 2026.
- Beginning on day 41, a certified substitute teacher's rate of pay will be based on the first step of the teachers' contract.
