Job Description:

Putnam Middle School is seeking a caring, flexible, and dependable individual to join our team as a Literacy Para educator. This part-time position supports students in in grades 5-8 by providing small group and individual assistance in reading and writing, reinforcing classroom instruction, and encouraging strong literacy habits. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for helping adolescents grow as readers and writers, work collaboratively with teachers and specialists, and foster a supportive environment where students feel confident and motivated to build their literacy skills.

Putnam facilitates strong district-wide alignment and support across all three schools in the district to ensure the student's educational experience prepares them for the real world.

POSITION:
Literacy Para educator

* Part-Time: 20 hours per week

LOCATION:

Putnam Middle School

QUALIFICATIONS:

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Required)

* Para Pro Test or equivalent of 2 year's college credits - 60 credits (Required)

* Experience working in a school system preferred

* Experience supporting students in literacy intervention programs preferred

START DATE:

August 24, 2026

RATE OF PAY: $20.36 - $22.50 per hour
