Part-Time: 20 hours per week
Special Education Para educator to support middle school students within a specialized program, helping them navigate academic, social, and emotional growth in a structured, supportive setting.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Support middle school students with diverse learning needs, providing academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional assistance.
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement individual instructional and behavioral plans.
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment where all students feel welcome.
- Provide individual and small‑group support as directed by certified staff.
- Adapt to evolving student needs and assist with daily classroom activities and transitions.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Successful completion of the Para Pro Assessment or at least 60 college credits from an accredited institution
- Experience working in a school system is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young adolescents, showing patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Ability to follow directions from certified staff, maintain a high degree of professionalism, and ensure student confidentiality at all times
Start date: School Year
Rate of pay: $20.36 – $22.50 per hour (based on contractual requirements)
