High School Math Tutor

Putnam High School is seeking a knowledgeable, patient, and engaging Math Tutor to help students strengthen their understanding of mathematical skills and concepts ranging from pre-algebra through pre-calculus. The Math Tutor will work with students individually and in small groups, collaborating closely with classroom teachers to support student achievement, build confidence, and foster mathematical persistence. • Targeted Tutoring:
  Deliver clear, individualized, and small-group math instruction across pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, algebra II, and pre-calculus concepts.
• Instructional Adaptation:
  Adapt teaching methods and explanations to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual student needs.

• Content Knowledge:
  Strong background and mastery of high school mathematics from pre-algebra through pre-calculus.
• Experience:
  
  Prior experience tutoring or working with high school-aged students preferred.
• Skills:
  
  Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; proficient in using instructional technology.
• Personal Attributes:
  Demonstrated patience, dependability, adaptability, and empathy when supporting learners.
• Background Check:
  Eligibility to work in a school setting, including successful completion of required DCF and criminal background checks.

Schedule:

Part-Time | Every other school day, 12:30 p.m. 3:30 p.m.

Benefits:
This part-time position is not eligible for benefits.

$40.00 per hour
