Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:

As the Quality Data Coordinator (RN), you will be under the direction of the Director of Quality Improvement/Risk Management, overseeing the process of gathering healthcare system core measure and meaningful use data to ensure the completeness of data collection. Assists in ensuring the validity, integrity and reliability of the healthcare’s performance measures data. healthcare.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and Coordinates the accurate and timely process of data collection to meet core measure and meaningful use deadlines.
  • Prepares reports of these data quarterly and as requested.
  • Chairs the Core Measure Committee.
  • Performs chart review to ensure complete collection of healthcare performance core measure data.
  • Ensure healthcare performance core measure data validity, integrity, and reliability.
  • Responsible for National/State Report Card and Core Measure data retrieval, entry and reporting processes.
  • Responsible for the organization and maintenance of required documentation of National/State Report Card and Core Measures reports, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Aids in problem identification and refers as appropriate to the Director, QI/RM.
  • Assists in follow up investigation of reported variances. Assists in preparing trended variance reports for review at various committees.
  • Serves as a member in our SSE review and analysis.
  • Serves as a key team member in conducting root cause analysis.
  • Coordinating activities for TOC.
  • Serves in an active role with regulatory and / or Joint Commission Surveys.
Registered Nurse(RN)

Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree in related field preferred. Quality improvement methodologies, research, data collection and analyses experience preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience required. Medical/surgical / ICU and/ or nursing supervisory experience required.

Licensed and currently registered in the State of Connecticut as a professional nurse required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to tactfully interact with medical staff, healthcare employees, and the public.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and through written reports.

Ability to interpret information in mathematical, written, and graphic form.

Ability to understand the Principles of Quality Improvement, data collection and ensuring validity, integrity and reliability of data.

Maintains discretion in handling the confidential nature of the information available.

Keeps up to date on current information and developments in collecting/reporting healthcare core measure and meaningful use data.

Demonstrates flexibility in time schedule to accommodate needs of the Quality/Risk Management Department.

Ability to change activities frequently.
