Day Kimball Health is hiring for an Occupational Therapist to join our Outpatient Clinic in Putnam, CT!

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day Shift (8:00 a.m.

- 4:30 p.m.)

Occupational Therapist
Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Physical Medicine Director, the Occupational Therapist organizes and administers prescribed occupational therapy programs in an effort to reduce and/or prevent disability to help patients achieve their maximum functional potential.

Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and treats patients as prescribed by referring physician.
• Records treatment, response, progress and discharge information in patient's chart or enters information into computer.
• Educates patient, family and significant others regarding condition, treatment and home program.
• Routinely confers with physician and other practitioners in person, by phone, or in writing, regarding progress, regression or change of plan.
• Orients, instructs, and directs assistants, aides and students.
• Maintains professional growth by attendance of department meetings, inservice and educational conferences. Includes participation in hospital orientation and departmental and community education and programs as directed.
• Assists with the planning and implementation of new programs.

Occupational Therapist
Education and Experience Requirements:

• BS or MS degree from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy required.
• Licensure by the state of Connecticut required.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
• Minimum of one year experience preferred.

Occupational Therapist
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Uses common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick or handicapped.
• Understands technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals, and labels.
• Uses eyes, hands, and fingers with skill.
• Works fast and accurately in emergency situations.
• Communicates well with people when they are sick, handicapped or nervous.
