Join a growing manufacturing company in Putnam, CT as a Buyer. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for candidates with purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience who are looking to expand their knowledge and build a long-term career in manufacturing. Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Purchasing, or related field preferred
Experience Requirements
  • 2-3 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience
  • Experience creating and managing purchase orders
  • ERP/MRP system experience preferred
  • Syte Line experience is a plus
  • Manufacturing experience preferred; plastics industry experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general business software
Job Duties
  • Purchase raw materials, components, and supplies to support manufacturing operations
  • Create, maintain, and track purchase orders
  • Monitor inventory levels, material requirements, and delivery schedules
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, availability, and deliveries
  • Follow up on open orders and resolve shortages or delivery delays
  • Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and purchasing records
  • Collaborate with production, planning, inventory, quality, and other internal departments
  • Assist with supplier sourcing and evaluation activities
  • Review pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Ensure materials are available to support efficient production schedules
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems for purchasing and material planning functions
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate around production equipment and moving machinery.
  • Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
