Now hiring for a Buyer (Direct Hire)
Location: Putnam, CT
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
Schedule: 1st Shift | 6:50 AM - 3:00 PM
Join a growing manufacturing company in Putnam, CT as a Buyer. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for candidates with purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience who are looking to expand their knowledge and build a long-term career in manufacturing. Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
Education Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Purchasing, or related field preferred
- 2-3 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience
- Experience creating and managing purchase orders
- ERP/MRP system experience preferred
- Syte Line experience is a plus
- Manufacturing experience preferred; plastics industry experience is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general business software
- Purchase raw materials, components, and supplies to support manufacturing operations
- Create, maintain, and track purchase orders
- Monitor inventory levels, material requirements, and delivery schedules
- Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, availability, and deliveries
- Follow up on open orders and resolve shortages or delivery delays
- Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and purchasing records
- Collaborate with production, planning, inventory, quality, and other internal departments
- Assist with supplier sourcing and evaluation activities
- Review pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure materials are available to support efficient production schedules
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems for purchasing and material planning functions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate around production equipment and moving machinery.
- Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
