is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time opportunity at an outpatient Family Medicine clinic in Putnam, Connecticut
.

Position Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions as an office nurse within a busy outpatient Family Medicine clinic, supporting providers and helping maintain smooth day-to-day clinical operations.

This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care while assisting physicians and nurse practitioners with clinical workflow, patient communication, procedures, and follow-up care.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient environment and has experience in a medical office, family medicine, or hospital-affiliated clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist providers by documenting chief complaints, vital signs, height, weight, blood pressure, and other clinical information
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring proper stocking of medical and educational supplies
  • Support patient flow and room assignments for providers
  • Reinforce patient education and care instructions following provider consultation
  • Answer patient questions or elevate concerns to the provider when appropriate
  • Administer immunizations and allergy injections while maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with Connecticut state requirements
  • Perform clinical duties including strep testing, specimen handling, nebulizer treatments, and monitoring patients as needed
  • Coordinate callbacks, test results, pharmacy communication, and follow-up care under provider direction
  • Assist with minor procedures including sutures, catheterization, PKU testing, and other office-based procedures
  • Retrieve laboratory and imaging results as requested
  • Maintain medical equipment, supplies, educational materials, and exam room readiness
  • Document accurately within the electronic medical record system
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all clinical policies and protocols
  • Support culturally competent patient care and communication needs
Qualifications
  • Active Connecticut Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License – Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification – Required
  • Current Physical & TB - Required
  • High School Diploma – Required
  • Additional college-level healthcare coursework preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of LPN experience in an outpatient clinic, family medicine, pediatrics, or a related clinical setting
