A Truck Mechanic maintains W. O. Grubb’s equipment to the highest quality, realizes cost savings, supports company mission and goals, and provides outstanding customer service. The role requires long hours, frequent standing and moving, exposure to extreme temperatures, and work on weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, booms, electrical systems (including onboard computer systems), hydraulic systems, brakes, and other basic components.
  • Ensure service reports are completed correctly and submitted to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Perform routine maintenance and document it according to equipment and manufacturer specifications.
  • Complete required repairs efficiently and cost‑effectively, documenting all repairs in detail.
  • Submit all required reports and forms in a timely manner.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential:
  • Ability to work on hydraulic and conventional cranes, forklifts, tractor‑trailers, and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Strong communication skills with operators and other mechanics.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass drug test, background check, and fit‑for‑duty test.
Desired:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in crane maintenance with proven troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in crane operations (CCO highly desirable).
  • Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced environment under pressure.
  • Experience with Grove, Demag, Link‑Belt, and Liebherr cranes.
  • Experience with diesel, gasoline, and propane engines.
  • Proficiency reading electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Creative thinking skills for continuous improvements.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills, technical skills, and functional skills.
  • Willingness to work day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment

The employee may need to wear appropriate PPE, may be exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles, and works in a moderate noise environment.
