Plumber

The maintenance worker will work for the maintenance department. This person will report to the president.

Major

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform emergency and routine repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Responsibility for the installation and repairs of water pipes, heating systems, drainage, and disposal systems.
  • Responsibility for connecting necessary pipes for the efficient operation of water pipes, heating, drainage, and disposal systems.
  • Responsibility for the maintenance and repair of plumbing, gas, and sanitary systems, and allied equipment.
  • Must be familiar with pump operation, repair and maintenance, i.e. sewage ejectors, centrifugal, sump pumps, condensate pumps, etc.
  • Responsibility for assisting in loading, assembling, etc., necessary equipment.
  • Maintain records of work performed including labor and materials used; receive work orders and determine priorities, using the district's computerized maintenance management software (CMMS).
  • Complete and close out CMMS work orders appropriately.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, sketches and blueprints as well as assist other employees the review of construction documents for both new and renovation projects.
  • Assist outside contractors as needed and assist with design and review of in-house projects.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Licenses/Special Requirements:

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
  • Must possess a Valid CT State driver's license.
  • Must have a current CT Plumbing License with a thorough knowledge of the Code of CT. Regulations.
  • Must pass a CORI/SORI Background check.
  • Required to wear/use appropriate safety clothing/equipment at all times.
