Job Overview

M&M Transport Services is seeking a Director of Operations in Putnam, CT to provide leadership to Terminal Managers who are accountable for dispatching and leading drivers and onsite customer relationships. The Director of Operations is accountable for all aspects of asset‑based trucking operations. They play a critical role in maintaining a safe and productive operation while meeting customer needs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and provide direction to all operational functions, including dispatch and company drivers.
  • Work with senior management to develop and execute operational strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the allocation of resources, including trucks, trailers, and personnel to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
  • Implement effective scheduling and routing strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and evaluate the performance of operations.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum five years' experience in a senior leadership role within the transportation or logistics industry, Dedicated Transportation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of asset‑based trucking operations, including fleet management and driver relations.
  • Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Results‑driven with a track record of achieving operational excellence.
