Senior Accounting Position for Large Marine Transportation Company

Contract:

4+ month

Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

Salary: $40 - $65 per hour.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather financial data and provide support for budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Perform variance analysis and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management, shareholders, and external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings as required.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards, recommending and implementing best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• SAP software experience is required.
