Position Summary
Full‑time Dental Assistant position available for our Puyallup Dental Clinic. The candidate will assist the dental provider in the delivery of dental procedures allowed by the Washington State Dental Practice Act, including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery.
Major duties include:
- Maintaining proper records for material safety data sheets (MSDS), spore tests, and inventory of dental supplies.
- Assisting in training new dental assistants and organizing schedules.
- Generating checklists for maintenance of dental procedures.
- Assisting with any other procedures allowed by the WA Dental Practice Act.
- Valid Washington State license and basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Organizational skills and dental record experience.
- Computer proficiency.
- Excellent customer service skills; must be able to communicate, read, write in English and interpret common written material about dentistry.
- Preferred bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Preferred previous orthodontic experience.
Dental Assistant II applicants must have completed a formal Dental Assistant program at a college, technical institute, or equivalent. A minimum of 6 months of work experience is required. Employees with no formal training must have a minimum of 18 months of experience.
Dental Assistant IIIDental Assistant III applicants must be knowledgeable of proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations, including quality improvement. They must be able to duplicate and mount radiographs, place temporary restorations, take impressions, pour and trim models, place retraction cord, place matrix bands, perform coronal polish, and give fluoride treatments. Applicants must have 2 years of working experience; employees with no formal training must have a minimum of 3 years of experience.
