SUMMARY:
The FACE Adult Education Coach supports parents, caregivers, and adult family members enrolled in the Family and Child Education (FACE) Program by providing individualized coaching, educational support, family engagement opportunities, and connections to community resources that promote lifelong learning, self-sufficiency, and family well-being. Through a strengths-based and culturally responsive approach, the Coach assists adults in identifying and achieving educational, career, parenting, cultural, and personal development goals while fostering meaningful engagement in their children's education.
Working collaboratively with FACE staff, school personnel, tribal departments, and community partners, the FACE Adult Education Coach conducts needs assessments, facilitates individual and group learning opportunities, supports workforce readiness and career exploration, connects families with educational and community resources, and promotes participation in FACE activities and events. The position serves as a trusted advocate and resource for families, helping strengthen parent-child relationships, support family literacy, encourage school readiness, and advance the overall goals of the FACE program.
The FACE Adult Education Coach maintains accurate program documentation, monitors participant progress toward established goals, assists with family recruitment and retention efforts, and contributes to the creation of a welcoming, culturally responsive environment that honors Native values, traditions, and community connections.
ABOUT CHIEF LESCHI SCHOOLS:
Formerly known as the Puyallup Tribal School, Chief Leschi Schools was founded in 1976 to address the high dropout rate of the youth of the Puyallup tribe. It is the largest of seven tribal schools in the state of Washington and one of approximately 200+ tribal schools in the United States. It is also one of the largest tribal schools to be funded by the Bureau of Indian Education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Conduct intake interviews, needs assessments, and goal-setting meetings with enrolled adults to identify educational, career, parenting, cultural, and personal development goals.
* Develop and maintain individualized support plans that assist participants in achieving established goals and overcoming barriers to success.
* Provide one-on-one coaching, mentoring, and guidance to support adult learners in educational advancement, workforce readiness, family engagement, and personal growth.
* Assist participants in exploring educational opportunities, career pathways, job training programs, certifications, post-secondary options, and workforce development resources.
* Facilitate workshops, learning activities, and group sessions related to family literacy, career readiness, parenting skills, financial literacy, life skills, cultural enrichment, and other topics aligned with FACE program goals.
* Provide support with employment readiness activities, including resume development, job search strategies, interview preparation, application assistance, and career exploration.
* Connect participants with community resources, tribal programs, educational institutions, social service agencies, healthcare providers, workforce development organizations, and other support services as appropriate.
* Promote and support family engagement by encouraging active participation in children's education, school activities, cultural events, and FACE programming.
* Collaborate with FACE staff, teachers, administrators, tribal departments, and community partners to coordinate services and support positive outcomes for participating families.
* Assist with planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating FACE family events, workshops, celebrations, recruitment activities, and community outreach efforts.
* Develop and maintain positive, respectful, and culturally responsive relationships with participants, families, community members, and partner organizations.
* Conduct outreach and recruitment activities to increase awareness of the FACE program and encourage participation among eligible families.
* Monitor participant progress toward established goals and provide ongoing support, encouragement, referrals, and follow-up services.
* Maintain accurate, timely, and complete records of participant contacts, services provided, assessments, goal progress, referrals, attendance, and program outcomes in accordance with FACE, district, tribal, and federal requirements.
* Enter required data and documentation into program databases and reporting systems within established timelines.
