NOTE:
This posting is for the 26/27 school year.
Provide individualized support to students with significant delays in social skills, communication, and behavior primarily related to autism. Flexibility to ride the bus. May work primarily with one student.
Selection ProcessExternal applicants will be given consideration once the internal bidding process has been completed.
Qualifications- Be at least eighteen years of age.
- Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Meet one of the following:
Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university;
Earn 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher from an accredited college or university;
Score 65% or higher on The Master Teacher Inc. Para educator Online Training Program (not administered by PSD).
Candidates must upload documentation verifying that they meet the stated requirements, including an official college transcript or a passing score in one of the following assessments:
- Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment
- Master Teacher Inc. Paraprofessional Online Training Program
- This position requires completion and attainment of the state‑mandated General Para educator Certificate.
- The Para educator Certificate Program offers statewide standards‑based training for all para educators/Education Support Professionals (ESP) and supports career growth for those wishing to advance as a para educator or pursue teaching.
- Staff must complete 28 hours of the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS) training within specified deadlines and ten days (70 clock hours) of professional development to earn the general certificate.
