Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessments
Cascade Christian Schools, founded in 1992, serves students from infancy through grade twelve and operates throughout Pierce County, Washington. The district is Christ‑centered and focuses on developing spiritually, personally, and academically prepared leaders.
The Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessments leads and oversees curriculum development, instructional excellence, academic assessment, intervention and enrichment systems, learning management systems, and professional learning initiatives across the district. This role partners closely with school and district leadership to ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and academic programming with the district’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. It supports teacher growth, student achievement, and continuous school improvement through effective systems, data‑informed decision making, and collaborative leadership.

- Lead district curriculum development, alignment, mapping, review, and adoption processes to ensure instructional programs meet academic standards, learning outcomes, and school improvement goals.
- Collaborate with academic leaders and faculty to evaluate instructional resources, recommend curriculum improvements, and support effective instructional planning.
- Coordinate district assessment programs, including MAP testing and other benchmark assessments, while maintaining assessment of data systems and reporting structures.
- Analyze and communicate student achievement data to support instructional decision‑making, intervention planning, and continuous school improvement.
- Support the implementation of high‑quality instructional practices through coaching, collaboration, and professional learning opportunities for teachers and instructional leaders.
- Partner with district and campus leadership to plan and facilitate professional development aligned with strategic goals and instructional priorities.
- Oversee effective implementation and use of Canvas and other instructional technology platforms, ensuring consistency in course design, communication, grading practices, and instructional delivery.
- Provide training, resources, and ongoing support that enhance teaching and learning through technology while evaluating emerging educational tools, including AI applications.
- Lead district intervention and enrichment programs, including the WIN (What’s Important Now) program, ensuring students receive appropriate academic support and opportunities for growth.
- Coordinate program implementation, scheduling, staffing, and evaluation while monitoring effectiveness and recommending improvements.
- Collaborate with district leadership on academic planning initiatives, including the academic calendar, master scheduling, accreditation efforts, and strategic improvement planning.
- Foster collaboration among teachers, administrators, and leadership teams while supporting the integration of faith and learning throughout all academic programs.
- Agreement with Cascade Christian Schools’ Statement of Faith and Teaching Statements.
- Demonstrated Christian character in attitude, speech, and actions.
- Washington State certification or qualifications consistent with Chapter 180‑90 WAC.
- Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Willingness to obtain ACSI certification.
- Five or more years of successful educational experience;
Christian school experience preferred. - Experience in curriculum development, assessment, instructional leadership, academic program management, and curriculum adoption processes.
- Experience leading professional development initiatives.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience using educational data to improve student learning and instructional effectiveness.
- Experience with Canvas or comparable learning management systems.
