whatyou’ll do:
- conduct routine and unannounced safety inspections across concrete batch plants, aggregate production facilities, maintenance shops, and active job sites.
- identify hazards, document findings, and partner with operations to implement timely corrective and preventive actions (capas).
- deliver and facilitate safety training programs, including new hire onboarding and weekly toolbox talks.
- ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including wisha, osha, msha, and fmcsa/dot requirements.
- lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations; perform root cause analysis and drive corrective action implementation.
- maintain accurate and audit-ready records for inspections, training, incidents, and regulatory compliance.
- observe field operations and provide real-time coaching on safe work practices, behaviors, and risk mitigation.
- support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- monitor, track, and analyze safety metrics and trends to proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- participate in and facilitate safety meetings to reinforce a strong, proactive safety culture.
- support return‑to‑work and light duty program initiatives.
- stay current on industry standards, regulatory updates, and best practices through ongoing professional development.
- uphold company standards for safety, regulatory compliance, and housekeeping.
- perform additional duties as assigned.
- work in outdoor, heavy industrial environments with exposure to weather, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
- traverse uneven terrain; climb stairs and ladders; occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- travel frequently between plant locations, mining operations, and job sites.
- maintain flexibility to work variable hours, including extended days as operational needs require.
- bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health, safety management, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of progressive safety experience in ready‑mix, construction materials, mining, or similar heavy industry.
- professional certifications such as msp, chst, csp, or ihsp.
- working knowledge of wisha, osha, msha, and fmcsa/dot regulations and their practical application in field environments.
- demonstrated experience conducting incident investigations and performing root cause analysis.
- strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment.
- proficiency in microsoft office (excel, word, power point, outlook).
- effective communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, from field personnel to executive leadership.
- willingness and ability to travel regularly to company locations.
- valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- $85k - $95k per year, doe

this is a safety sensitive position. Prior to employment, applicants are required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test which includes screening for non-psychoactive cannabis metabolite (e.g., cbd, cbc, thca, etc.).
pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
