TSMC, the world's leading independent semiconductor foundry, is seeking highly motivated, results-oriented, and forward-thinking individuals to join our team as a Facilities Life Safety Technician will be part of a team consisting of other Engineers and other Technicians who partner together to best manage system design, maintenance, and improvements (scope of work) in an Industrial Facilities setting. The Systems Engineer prepares plans for systems under their ownership and the scope of work which will affect those systems.
Due to 24/7 manufacturing environment, position sometimes requires availability of being contacted outside of scheduled working hours and changing shifts to nights.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:- Manage design/construction of ongoing project to replace existing Fire Alarm System to Edwards EST
4. - Manage designe/construction of Semiconductor Stockers to install VESDA units.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of Life Safety Systems including Fire System (fire detectors, suppression equipment, and control systems) and Gas Monitoring System (detection and controls).
- Propose improvements in system design, component selection, and maintenance plans to optimize system reliability and sustainability. Implement team ideas in terms of construction, configuration, and operation. Responding to system alarms even on nights and weekends to maintain manufacturing reliability.
- Associate’s degree, Journeyman license, or equivalent preferred
- 2 years semiconductor, manufacturing, maintenance or construction (Preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills, experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
- Team player, solution-minded, takes ownership, self-managed.
- Interested in auto mechanics, programming, mechatronics, robotics or construction.
- Can manage difficult terrain, stairs, extended periods standing / walking, and can safely lift 35-lb objects.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 & 72
- NICET-certified in Fire Systems(Preferred)
- Active in auto mechanics, programming, mechatronics, robotics or construction(Preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
- Initiative-driven with adaptable priorities and responsibilities to support business needs.
- Team player with leadership skills, able to multitask in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Goal-driven with experience in high-performing team cultures.
- Quick to assimilate new technology.
- Skilled in troubleshooting complex problems and addressing root causes.
- Ability to spend majority of shift on feet, both walking and standing, with occasional sitting.
- Frequent coordinated use of hands.
- Lift and or carry up to 56 pounds.
- Pushing or pulling 66 pounds.
- Occasionally reach, bend forward while standing, or squat.
