The Pioneer Park Pavilion is conveniently located in picturesque Pioneer Park with a large 8600 sq. ft. multi-purpose room, and is the site of many community meetings and private events. The Facility Attendant provides the primary point of customer service contact for the Pioneer Park Pavilion during events and rentals. This position is responsible for building and event supervision, event preparation, and janitorial duties. Responsibilities include set up and take down of facility equipment for events and rentals; working at events as scheduled and providing feedback to the facility supervisor. This position involves significant public contact and requires attention to detail and excellent customer service.
The Facility Attendant reports to the Pioneer Park Pavilion Supervisor. This is a non-benefit, part-time position, with 10 to 15 hours per week depending on events and rentals. Most hours are on weekends, with some late night shifts and weekday hours depending on rentals and events. Occasionally, shifts may be added or shifted on short notice.
- Performs moderate to heavy physical labor to set up the facility for events and rentals, including set up and take down of chairs, tables, portable stage (light maintenance).
- Sets up audio-visual equipment and lighting.
- Uses office equipment including computer, phone, fax machine and copy machine.
- Maintains equipment inventory.
- Deals tactfully and pleasantly with the public and staff; responds to public inquiries and requests.
- Performs overall building supervision and crowd control.
- Performs janitorial duties, such as sweeping, mopping, and cleaning restrooms.
- Clears and secures facility at closing time.
- Provides feedback to the supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
- First aid and CPR;

- Correct grammar and basic arithmetic;
- Recreation events and promotional tools and procedures.
- Learn technical setup of audio/visual equipment and lighting;
- Perform moderate to heavy physical labor to set up facility for events and rentals, including setup of tables, chairs, portable stage, and stage lighting, and perform janitorial duties;
- Work a flexible schedule (weekdays, weekends, and late night shifts) with minimal supervision;
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing;
- Provide excellent customer service when dealing with the public in a pleasant and courteous manner;
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers;
- Perform detailed routine procedures accurately under pressure with interruptions;
- Follow through and complete tasks as assigned;
- Operate/maintain equipment as assigned; and
- Quickly learn programming methods, facilities, and goals.
- Graduation from high school or GED required.
- Must be minimum of 18 years of age or older;
- Possession of a valid Washington State driver7s license is required;
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid basic First Aid and CPR certification by start date; training may be obtained through organizations such as the Puyallup Fire Department or the American Red Cross.
- Compliance with Child/Adult Abuse Information Act (RCW .43.840).
- Completion of employer-provided Bloodborne Pathogens Awareness, Fire Suppression Awareness and Hazard Communication training initially upon employment.
- One year experience of recreational event coordination is strongly desired; and
- Prior clerical experience is desired.
