Job Description

Renown Mortgage is looking for an experienced, licensed Loan Partner to join Team Justice in our Puyallup office.

This is not an entry-level mortgage support role. We are looking for someone who understands the mortgage process, can review borrower scenarios, evaluate documentation, understand guidelines and pricing, and help support a high-trust client experience from pre-approval through closing.

The right person will be detail-oriented, relational, proactive, calm under pressure, and comfortable being a key second-chair partner to a high-producing Loan Officer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the mortgage business, understands how important borrower experience is, and wants to grow into a senior role inside a strong team environment without needing to be the primary outside sales originator.

What

You’ll Be Doing

You will help support borrower analysis, pre-approval preparation, loan setup, client communication, and overall file momentum.

Responsibilities
  • Review borrower applications, credit, income, assets, AUS findings, and documentation
  • Identify questions, gaps, or concerns before files move forward
  • Help prepare pre-approval details for the Loan Officer to review and present
  • Understand loan structure, pricing, guidelines, and borrower strategy enough to advise the Loan Officer internally
  • Communicate with borrowers about documentation needs, next steps, and file updates
  • Help keep pre-approved clients engaged while they are shopping for homes
  • Run updated numbers and support revised pre-approval scenarios when needed
  • Review contracts, note key dates, and identify anything unusual or important
  • Set up loan files, prepare disclosures, and coordinate with processing
  • Manage follow-up so clients, agents, and referral partners feel informed and cared for
  • Support weekly updates and key milestone communication
  • Help maintain clean notes, tasks, and file organization inside the team’s systems
  • This role is a major part of the client experience. We want borrowers and referral partners to feel educated, cared for, and confident throughout the process.

    What We’re Looking For Required
    • Active NMLS license
    • 2+ years of mortgage experience
    • Experience as a Loan Partner, LOA, Junior Loan Officer, Processor, or similar mortgage role
    • Comfortable reviewing income, assets, credit, AUS findings, and conditions
    • Strong written borrower communication
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Warm, relational communication style
    • Proactive follow-up without needing constant direction
    • Ability to work inside a team process
    • Comfortable with commission-based compensation
    • Located close enough to work in-office in Puyallup
    Preferred (but not required)
    • Experience with self-employed borrowers
    • Experience with non-QM, DSCR, bank statement, bridge, or other specialty loan products
    • Experience with Arive, Jungo/Salesforce, Loan Sifter, or similar mortgage systems
    • Experience supporting a high-producing Loan Officer or mortgage team
    What This Role Is Not

This is not a remote role.

This is not an entry-level training role.

This is not a role for someone who needs constant direction.

This is not an outside sales or self-sourced Loan Officer role.

    This is not a low-pressure admin-only position.

This is not a role for someone who dislikes client communication.

This is not a role for someone uncomfortable with commission-based compensation.

This is not a role for someone who wants to work alone outside of a team process.

    Growth Opportunity

For the right person, this role can grow into a Senior Loan Partner, Team Lead, or Operations Leadership position.

We are looking for someone who can become a trusted partner in the business, help improve systems, support client experience, and eventually help lead other team members as the team grows.

    Who You’ll Work Best With

You’ll be a strong fit if you enjoy being part of a relational, mission-driven team that cares deeply about people, communication, and excellence.

We want someone who takes the work seriously without bringing drama into the environment. Someone who can manage details, communicate clearly, care about the borrower experience, and help create confidence for clients during one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.
