Position Summary

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Therapy Technician operates under direct supervision of PT, OT, & SLP therapists to support patient care including cleaning and maintenance of specialized equipment and clinical treatment spaces as well as assisting with hands on care with patients to promote independence. They demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, as well as collaborate with internal staff and interact extensively with patients, families, therapists and physicians to support the therapy side of the inpatient rehabilitation unit.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with fitting, ordering, and coordinating specialized equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, bathroom aids) as directed by physical, occupational, or speech therapists.
  • Operate and maintain specialized therapy devices, including power wheelchairs and various assistive technologies.
  • Coordinate repairs, recalibrations, and technical support for specialized therapy equipment.
  • Assist with clerical duties related to equipment orders, sending faxes, organization and maintenance of inventory, restocking supplies, and organizing therapy schedules.
  • Sterilize adaptive eating utensils and wheelchair seating components to meet hygiene standards.
  • Support patient care and assist with feeding in the dining room under the guidance of a therapist.
  • Enforce Department of Health and infection prevention protocols for all equipment and treatment areas.
Qualifications
  • One (1) year of post high school business or college course work preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in rehabilitation department or patient care with adults with physical and cognitive disabilities strongly preferred
  • Medical assistant certification from an accredited training program preferred
  • BLS Required

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.41 - $32.58 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.

If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
