About the RoleWe are seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and patient-focused Patient Representative to join our RFPT team. This full-time, on-site role plays a key part in ensuring smooth daily operations by serving as the primary point of contact for patients, both in person and over the phone. The Patient Representative is responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations for continued care, managing patient records, and handling payments and inquiries.
This role requires providing excellent customer service while supporting clinical and administrative staff by coordinating patient flow, maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical records system, and following established office procedures and protocols. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. A strong commitment to clear communication and creating a positive, welcoming experience for every patient is essential.
Range $20-21 an hour with a bonus structure Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner both in person and over the phone
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments accurately and efficiently
- Maintain a full and organized provider schedule
- Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits
- Obtain and track insurance authorizations and referrals for initial and continued visits
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding coverage, benefits, and authorization requirements
- Collect, process, and post patient payments, including co-pays and outstanding balances
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, scanning, and document management
- Follow office policies, procedures, and established protocols, including HIPAA compliance
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, providers, and staff
- Address patient questions and concerns regarding scheduling, insurance, and payments
- Multitask effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining accuracy
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of customer service experience
- Medical office or call center experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and established protocols
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable scheduling patients in person and over the phone
- Comfortable taking and processing payments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred
- Medical/Dental: RFPT reimburses 75% (up to $600/month) toward an Employee Individual Healthcare Plan
- Vision Insurance (VSP): $45.46/month
