Hansell Tierney is assisting our client, a regional insurance agency in the South Sound, with their search for a Senior
Insurance Broker to join their growing team.
As a Senior Insurance Broker, you are responsible for managing client accounts, evaluating competitive insurance policies, and ensuring clients receive tailored coverage that meets their needs. Your role involves leading high-value client consultations, driving business growth, and optimizing policy placements to align with clients' financial and healthcare needs. By maintaining strong carrier relationships, collaborating with support staff, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations, you contribute to the company’s success and long-term client retention.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you:
- Assist clients in selecting insurance policies that best meet their needs, offering expert advice and recommendations.
- Prepare quotes, process applications, and help clients understand their coverage options.
- Provide clients with timely and efficient service, resolving issues and handling inquiries promptly.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns.
- Stay up to date with market trends and industry changes to offer clients the most relevant and competitive options.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies when processing applications and claims.
- Track and manage client policies, making necessary updates and ensuring timely renewals.
- Support the team in maintaining an organized and up-to-date client database.
- Collaborate with team to share best practices and learn from others to continually raise the bar.
- Train and mentor junior employees to scale impact and grow the agency.
To be successful in this role, you:
- Have relevant experience in the insurance industry or a related field.
- Possess a valid insurance license and maintain continuing education credits as required.
- Complete and maintain all required federal and local licenses and carrier certifications.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, both in person, via phone/email, and virtually / remote.
- Are proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Have the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
- Maintain a deep knowledge of the latest insurance industry trends, products, regulations, etc.
- Have proficiency in relevant software and systems including insurance systems / portals, CRM (Client Relationship Management) or AMS (Agency Management System) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Your performance is evaluated based on key metrics, including:
- Policy sales volume and client retention rates, including the number of new policies written and the retention rate of existing policies.
- Customer satisfaction scores and quality of client support.
- Lead engagement and conversion rates, ensuring a strong pipeline of new business.
- Compliance accuracy, including adherence to documentation standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Revenue growth contributions through writing new policies, renewing existing policies, or adding new coverage types to existing clients.
South Sound WA, LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY
Compensation Range – Anticipated Starting Salary $80,000 + Commissions.
Benefits – Full Medical and Dental insurance (100% covered for employees, 50% for dependents), 401(k) with 100% match up to 4%, 3 weeks PTO (starting) + 7 paid holidays and 5 floating holidays. Flexible remote-work policy (role-dependent)
