HIAB Brasil is hiring a Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment on Hiab equipment at assigned locations. The role is based in Puyallup, WA, USA.
CompensationSalary ranges from $32.65 to $38.10 per hour, based on skills and experience.

To perform service activities—including preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades, and refurbishment—on equipment at assigned Hiab locations in line with Manager’s instructions, while contributing to productive customer relationships and following best practice in all administrative and technical activities.
Technical & Product Knowledge- Stay up to date with technical developments via internal service bulletins and applicable technical courses.
- Keep current with technical specifications of relevant equipment.
- Respond to customers in the manner instructed by the District Service Manager to maximize satisfaction.
- Follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines.
- Protect self and others.
- Follow applicable safety rules, working practices and environmental requirements.
- Notify the District Service Manager if equipment safety is jeopardized.
- Respect and protect Hiab and third‑party property.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, report, plan and conduct service or repair as instructed.
- Submit regular reports in the specified format.
- Maintain adequate records and documentation in line with agreed standards.
- Plan and manage time and resources for maximum benefit of Hiab and the customer.
- Make judgments about the most cost‑effective and efficient approach to service.
- Maintain documentation to ensure accurate invoicing.
- Manage and protect spare parts security and traceability.
- Recognize sales opportunities and communicate them to the District Service Manager.
- Provide feedback to support continuous quality improvement.
- Participate in innovative thinking to improve service efficiency.
- Coach or tutor junior colleagues and trainees as needed.
- Conduct oneself in a manner that promotes a positive Hiab brand image and follows the Quality System.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a valid 1‑year DOT Medical Card.
- Be mobile, adaptable and able to work in variable physical site conditions.
- Possess a qualification from a higher vocational school (below BSc level) in mechanical engineering, hydraulics, electrics & electronics or equivalent experience.
- Have working technical knowledge of all Hiab product lines (mechanicals, hydraulics, electrics, electronics).
- Understand diesel engines and hydraulic drive systems.
- Fluent in the local language and competent in written and spoken English.
- Hold required operators licenses for equipment used.
- Maintain records in compliance with agreements.
- Know and comply with Hiab USA Operating & Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
- Understand and comply with all safety and environmental requirements.
- Own tools required for the role.
- Minimum high‑school diploma or GED.
- Technical or secondary college education preferred.
- At least 3 years of mechanical, hydraulic or electrical operations preferred.
- Customer‑oriented.
- Able to cope with stressful situations.
- Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Acts responsibly based on prevailing circumstances.
- Good hands‑on skills for mechanical, hydraulic and electronic operations.
- Safe operation of equipment for test and repair.
- Basic computer skills.
