Day in the Life

Northwest Cascade has an?opening for a credit & collections supervisor. This individual will supervise staff, oversee the daily operations of the credit and collections team, establish priorities and partners with sales, operations, and accounting to ensure policies and procedures are consistently followed while maintaining positive customer relationships. The right candidate must enjoy continuous process improvement, have a willingness to learn, be efficient and accurate, have good?communication,

collaboration, and time management skills. This person must be able to multitask and work in?a fast-paced environment.

Supervision & Leadership
  • Supervise, coach, and develop credit and collections staff with an open and approachable attitude
  • Assign and prioritize workloads to meet collection targets and deadlines
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and training
  • Promote accountability, accuracy, and professionalism within the team
Credit Management
  • Review and approve credit applications, limits, and terms in accordance with company policy
  • Monitor customer credit risk and recommend adjustments as needed
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with credit policies
Collections & Accounts Receivable
  • Oversee collection efforts to ensure timely payment of outstanding balances
  • Handle escalated or complex collection issues, including disputes and high-risk accounts
  • Monitor aging reports and key performance metrics
  • Ensure accurate application of cash receipts and resolution of discrepancies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sales and Operations to resolve credit and billing issues
  • Work collaboratively with Accounting to ensure data integrity and efficient process flows
  • Communicate credit decisions and collection concerns clearly and professionally
  • Support the business while balancing risk management and customer relationships
Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare and analyze reports related to AR aging, bad debt exposure, and collection performance
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable regulations
Requirements

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail oriented and must be passionate about taking care of each customer, figuring out what they need and to leave each customer feeling they are 100% satisfied.

Education & Experience
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in credit and collections
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, credit risk, and collection practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make sound decisions
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Communicate by being able to convey your message and understand what is being said, both verbally and in writing, effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to relate to customers and others at all organizational levels with a friendly attitude
  • Ability to quickly learn, evaluate and modify processes for accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to leverage technology for process improvements
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and provide great references
