Title: Forklift Operator
Location: Puyallup, WA
Schedule: 4pm - 1:30am
Pay: $18.50

Position Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating powered industrial trucks to move, load, unload, stack, and stage materials throughout the manufacturing and warehouse facility. This role supports production and distribution operations by ensuring the efficient flow of raw materials, components, and finished products while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage materials and finished products throughout the facility.
  • Supply production lines with required materials and remove finished products as needed.
  • Perform shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trailers.
  • Verify product quantities and inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies.
  • Accurately scan and record inventory movements using warehouse management systems or handheld scanners.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and ensure proper storage of materials.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and quality standards.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and inventory control activities.
  • Support housekeeping initiatives and maintain a clean work area.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to meet operational goals.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain forklift certification.
  • Basic math and inventory tracking skills.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, labels, and shipping documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
Preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
  • Previous experience handling large or bulky products.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with equipment assistance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely for extended periods.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or flexible shifts as business needs require.
