Job Summary
This is an Ameri Corps/Washington Service Corps national service position with the Pierce Conservation District's Urban Agriculture division. The Gleaning Specialist will support the Gleaning program, steward fruit‑tree health across the county, and reduce food waste through community education.
Responsibilities- Plan and manage volunteer fruit‑tree and farm gleaning events.
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers.
- Conduct outreach to under‑represented communities.
- Provide logistical support for workshops.
- Create, update, and distribute promotional materials.
- Assist in educating the public on food waste reduction.
- Monthly stipend: $2,438.
- Training & professional development.
- Education award upon successful completion of service.
- Health coverage.
- Childcare assistance (if eligible).
- High‑school diploma or GED.
- Age 18‑99.
- English language proficiency.
- Full‑time schedule.
- Program Type:
Ameri Corps State/National. - Start/End Date: 10/01/2026 – 08/15/2027.
