Role Description The Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Puyallup, WA, responsible for overseeing all clinical nursing operations within the facility. This role directs nursing staff in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and best practices in skilled nursing and post-acute care. The Director of Nursing develops and implements clinical protocols, manages staffing and scheduling, and supports professional development through coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

Daily responsibilities include collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, monitoring clinical outcomes, participating in care planning, and engaging with patients, residents, families, and external providers to promote positive experiences and outcomes. The role also involves quality improvement initiatives, survey readiness, and supporting a culture of safety, accountability, and compassion.
Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State and graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Demonstrated nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute settings, including prior management or supervisory responsibility.
• Strong clinical knowledge of geriatric care, rehabilitation, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, and evidence-based nursing practices.
• Proficiency in staff management, including team leadership, performance coaching, staffing and scheduling, and conflict resolution.
• Experience with regulatory compliance, survey preparation, and quality improvement processes in a healthcare environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, associates, physicians, and community partners.
• Ability to analyze clinical data, monitor outcomes, and implement improvements to enhance patient care and facility performance.
• Competence with electronic health records (EHR), documentation standards, and basic computer applications used in healthcare settings.
• Commitment to person-centered care, ethical practice, and fostering an inclusive, respectful workplace culture.
• Flexibility to meet facility needs, including occasional evening or weekend responsibilities as required.
