Registered Nurse, Preop/PACU

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards. The Registered Nurse in Preop/PACU is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by themselves and those under their direction, utilizing specialized knowledge and judgment to provide appropriate care based on the physical and developmental needs of assigned patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and post-operative planning needs.
  • Review patient information and diagnostics to ensure thorough understanding of each patient's needs.
  • Formulate, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive plan of care in collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Provide direct patient care while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Document all nursing care, assessments, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to nursing quality indicators and patient outcomes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing or higher.
  • Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, temporary RN license, or compact RN licensure for the current state of practice required.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification must be obtained within 90 days if assigned to pediatric services.
  • Minimum one year of licensed RN experience in Preop/PACU required for core positions; two years for PRN positions.
Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with varying shifts.
