Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Emergency Room (12-Hour Days/Mids)
LocationPuyallup, WA | Acute Care – Level III Trauma Center
Schedule / Job TypeContract | 12-Hour Shifts | Days/Mids (0700, 1100 start times) | Onsite | No On-Call | Schedule provided 3 weeks at a time
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department averaging 200 patients per day, serving a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Manage high-acuity cases including trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, DKA, respiratory emergencies, and adult psychiatric presentations
- Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV access, medication administration including drips, and procedural sedation
- Administer blood products and cardiac medications; TNK administration experience strongly preferred
- Accurately document all patient care using the Epic electronic health record system
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:4–5, with ability to flex based on acuity and staffing needs
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB
- Recent Epic EMR experience required
- Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- TNK (Tenecteplase) administration experience
- Experience with Alaris infusion pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Familiarity with central and bedside telemetry monitoring
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity trauma environment
- Traveler-friendly culture with strong team support including 24/7 security, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, social work, and house supervisor coverage — many travelers choose to extend their assignments
- Robust on-unit support including ER techs, charge nurses, a dedicated ED educator, and resource/float nurses to help you succeed in a dynamic environment
