Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our versatile team and provide clinical support across various units. The following are the details regarding the unit bed counts and patient types:
Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU): 40 beds
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU): 10 beds
Progressive Care Unit (PCU): 40 beds
Observation (2R PCU): 18 beds, with a possible overflow to 27 beds
Coronary Care Unit (CCU): 30 beds
Medical Unit: 89 beds
Surgical Unit: 55 beds
Flex Unit: 9 beds (combination of PCU and Med-Surg patients)
Inpatient Rehabilitation: 47 beds on two floors
Emergency Room Holding Unit: for patients awaiting beds
COVID Overflow: as needed
The Registered Nurse will work with a diverse patient population, including but not limited to:
ICU:
Respiratory Failure, GI Bleeds, DKA, Sepsis, Complicated Post-operative Patients, CVA, Flap Surgeries, Post-Arrest, ETOH, IVDA
PCU:
Respiratory Compromise, Sepsis, Renal Failure, Bleeding Disorders, General Medical/Surgical Patients, CHF, COPD, Pneumonia
Med-Surg:
Includes Oncology, General, Ortho cases, and various medical conditions such as Sepsis, DVT, AKI, Dialysis, and COVID
Rehabilitation:
Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, TBI, and Multi-Trauma Patients, along with Post-ICU Care, including Vents and Traches
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience:
ICU: 2 years of ICU experience
PCU: 2 years of PCU experience
Medical/Surgical: 2 years in an acute care setting
First-time travelers are welcome.
Required Licenses and
Certifications:
ICU: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
PCU: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Medical/Surgical: BLS, NIHSS
Role Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse will be expected to:
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a variety of settings.
- Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and maintain accurate records.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Transport patients throughout the facility as needed.
Patient Ratios:
ICU: 1:2
PCU and CCU: 1:4
Medical and Surgical: 1:5
Rehabilitation: 1:8 (team model including RN, LPN, Tech)
Support and Technology:
