DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center requiring 2 years of ED experience and recent Epic experience.
Details- Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds and 46 ED beds, including 5 Safe Psych rooms and a 5-bay Fast Track
- Average of 200 patients per day
- Patient population spans peds to geriatrics including trauma, GSW, sepsis, COVID, STEMI, stroke, DKA, mental health, respiratory issues, and high acuity medical cases
- High geriatric population with falls and STEMI cases
- No invasive neuro procedures such as craniotomies performed
- Small pediatric volume, typically transferred to Mary Bridge
- Day shift ratio of 1:4-5 with ability to flex to 5 based on acuity and staffing
- 12-hour Days/Mids and Mids/Nights shifts with start times of 0700, 1100, 1500, and 1900
- 36 hours per week with schedules provided 3 weeks at a time
- Weekend requirements vary based on unit needs
- No floating required
- No on-call requirements
- Central and bedside telemetry monitoring at the nursing station with no dedicated tele tech
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB
- Recent Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, and ED drips and medication administration
- Experience with procedural sedation, blood administration, and cardiac medications
- TNK administration experience preferred
- Must complete and pass Traveler Telemetry Competency exam prior to start
- Supported by ER techs, resource/float nurses, 24/7 RT, ED educator, increased 24/7 security, 24/7 house supervisor, 24/7 social work services, and 24/7 pharmacy support
- Charge nurse rarely takes an assignment
- Orientation includes NEO on day one with badge and Epic training if needed, time with the educator, and hours in the mental health area and front end
- Second day includes a 12-hour shift with a preceptor on the assigned shift
- Holiday coverage required for 2 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Any professional scrub color accepted
- Modest piercings (studs only) permitted; tattoos must not be offensive
- Free parking available in designated areas

The $2,292 weekly pay shown in this posting, along with related figures, corresponds to the higher end of this range. Weekly travel pay includes tax-free stipends per IRS guidelines. Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
