Water Technician

Position Summary

Fruitland Mutual Water Co is seeking a full-time Water Technician I to join our operations team. This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repair, and operation of the company’s water distribution system and related equipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, motivated, and willing to learn in a hands-on outdoor work environment.

This is an on-site position based in Puyallup, WA.

• Monitor and maintain water distribution systems and equipment
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on water infrastructure
• Respond to customer service calls, leaks, and emergency repair situations
• Assist with water quality monitoring and testing procedures
• Operate tools, equipment, and heavy machinery safely and efficiently
• Read and record system data, meters, and operational information
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
• Follow all company safety policies and regulatory requirements
• Assist with installation and replacement of water system components
• Participate in on-call or emergency response duties as needed

• Experience in water utility operations, construction, maintenance, or related fields preferred but not required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
• CDL license is a plus
• Ability to operate or learn to operate heavy equipment and machinery
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in randomized drug screenings

• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials and equipment
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in outdoor environments for extended periods
• Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks
