Hours8 Hours, Monday Friday, 7:00AM to 4:00PM, but in accordance with the established procedures in the bargaining unit contract, are subject to change to meet district needs.

NotesThe position of the "Building Foreman" is done for the purpose of supervising designated personnel; ensuring safe and efficient completion of required maintenance work; maintaining district facilities in a safe operating condition and maintaining the ability to respond effectively to meet district needs.
Education Required- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational/Trade school certification (or ability to demonstrate competency through work experience) in one of the listed trades preferred.
- Six years recent, successful, working experience in private enterprise or government agencies in a related building trades Journeyman capacity.
- Completion of a two-year trade school or apprenticeship program and four years working experience as a journeyman in related job functions is an allowable substitution.
- Experience in building trades comprising of a combination of commercial construction experience and building maintenance required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
Candidate must attain a minimum of 70% on the scored interview questions, practical essay, and resume review to be deemed to have met the minimum qualifications for the position.

communicate effectively; supervise others; operate equipment in a safe manner; perform basic math calculations; maintain inventory; use standard office equipment including computer hardware and software. The ability to make effective decisions. - Knowledge: federal, State, and local codes;
District and departmental policies and procedures; safe work practices; methods and use of materials, tools and equipment used in related trades. - Abilities: stand and walk for prolonged periods; demonstrated computer competency; coordinate various job assignments; provide direction to others; problem solve; train others; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; work with minimal supervision; establish priorities; adjust to flexible assignments with short notice; effectively communicate with others; establish, and maintain cooperative work relationships; significant physical abilities including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, grasping, ordinary talking, ordinary hearing, near/far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision.
Certifications, Bonding, and Testing Required
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and evidence of insurability.
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
- Asbestos Certifications (Bldg. Inspector and/or Management Planner)
- Management/Leadership Training Certifications
- Trade Specific Instructor Training Certifications
