Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for a Special Projects Mechanic to become part of our Join and Installation team in Puyallup, Washington
. As a Special Projects Mechanic, you will be at the forefront of innovation and precision in the aerospace industry. • Distribute and assign tasks to the assembly team based on production requirements, utilizing tools such as bar charts, flow charts, and Work Orders (W/O).
• Maintain and update personal and tool certifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Initiate and document planning, engineering, or tooling changes using appropriate forms and online systems.
• Verify the accuracy of pre‑picked detail parts, drawings, and assemblies against Work Orders, Installation Plans (IP), and Bills of Material (BOM).
• Perform layout work and create shop aids to facilitate the fitting of parts into airframes and special projects.
• Utilize Precision Measuring Equipment (PME) and laser trackers to locate and align parts on assembly tools according to specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to address design‑related issues or modifications during the assembly process.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to workflows or tools based on hands‑on experience.

• Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10‑15 lbs to 15‑35 lbs.
• Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
• Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
• Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
• Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
• Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

• 120.62 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
