Summary
Coordinates transportation providers (internal and external) to ensure all shipping requirements are met. Quotes various transportation requirements for domestic and internal shipments. Prepares Bills of Lading and other shipping documents for consistency and accuracy.
Responsibilities- Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments
- Responding to internal and external customer inquiries related to freight quotes and timing of shipments
- Reviewing shipping documents to ensure accuracy
- Making special shipping arrangements as necessary for internal or container shipments to customers
- Tracking and fixing shipping errors
- Preparing bills of lading
- Ensuring quality of all services provided meets required standards
- Developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized
- Coordinating activities of departments to deliver efficient material movement, reducing costs and inventory investment while improving accuracy and response time to customers
- Providing daily communication to stakeholders so that all loads are loaded and depart on time and within the scheduled workday
- Scheduling all tasks related to the delivery of products post production, including customer pick‑ups, LTL, TL, intermodal and international shipping
- Studying and standardizing procedures to improve worker efficiency supporting company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic directives
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining processes to reduce costs and increase customer service
- Supporting plant business units’ goals of quality, safety, productivity, and customer service
- Reviewing, analyzing, modifying, and implementing efficient and effective logistics processes, policies, and procedures
- Performing other related duties as assigned by management
- Associate’s degree in a related field
- Minimum five years of logistics, warehousing or related experience
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, customs paperwork (COA, Bills of Lading, etc.) and company products
- Excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to remain calm and tactful under pressure
- Ability to work collaboratively or independently, troubleshoot, multitask, and exercise good judgment in making timely decisions
This position involves standing, walking, and lifting for long periods, grasping and fine finger manipulation, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The workplace is not climate‑controlled and noise levels can become high. Hearing protection is required. The work is performed in an area where moving mechanical machinery, parts or vibration are located. The position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth vision.

Day shift, Monday to Friday.
