Operations Supervisor - Day Shift
The Operations Supervisor leads daily warehouse operations at Seattle Pharma Distribution Center 8112 and directly supervises 20+ dayshift employees. This leader ensures efficient, accurate order processing, inventory control, and workflow execution while building a positive, productive work environment. Through visible floor leadership, coaching, collaboration, and continuous improvement, the supervisor develops employees, upholds safety and quality standards, and delivers reliable service to customers and patients.
EssentialRoles and Responsibilities
- Direct daily warehouse operations across receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, and shipping to meet safety, quality, service, and shipment targets.
- Translate volume and service needs into daily labor plans, assign work, and adjust resources as priorities change.
- Build an engaged, inclusive, and accountable culture by setting clear expectations, recognizing contributions, and connecting the team's work to customers and patients.
- Coach, mentor, and develop employees through regular feedback, training, recognition, and meaningful growth opportunities; lead team meetings that reinforce company updates, performance goals, and safety priorities.
- Support employee success while managing schedules, attendance, timekeeping, PTO, performance documentation, and, when needed, corrective action in partnership with Human Resources and management.
- Champion company SOPs and applicable DEA, FDA, OSHA, DSCSA, state pharmacy, and other regulatory requirements while maintaining audit readiness.
- Promote a safe and secure workplace through active floor observations, access controls, and proper handling of controlled substances, cold-chain product, hazardous materials, and other sensitive inventory.
- Respond to injuries, safety hazards, security concerns, inventory discrepancies, product issues, and process deviations with timely investigation, documentation, escalation, and follow-up.
- Review safety, attendance, productivity/LPH, quality/DPMO, service-level, labor utilization, training, and engagement results; celebrate wins and implement strategies to achieve operational goals.
- Use warehouse systems and operational data to track inventory, manage orders, monitor automation and equipment, and prepare performance reports; troubleshoot or escalate issues as needed.
- Partner with other shifts and departments, including Inventory, Customer Service, and Transportation, to resolve bottlenecks and discrepancies, align priorities, and maintain clear handoffs.
- Lead continuous improvement through root-cause analysis, standard work, and process changes that improve service and efficiency while reducing errors, rework, and costs.
- Maintain a visible floor presence, remove barriers, and provide hands-on support to help the team meet business and customer commitments.
- Typically requires 3+ years of subject matter experience including exhibiting leadership capabilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Five or more years of warehouse or distribution experience, including pharmaceutical or regulated distribution.
- Two or more years in a supervisor or team lead role with responsibility for employees or daily workflow.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, organize, and develop a large team while delivering measurable results.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics processes, SOPs, inventory controls, safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, judgment, and problem-solving, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced operation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn warehouse, inventory, automation, labor-management, and reporting systems.
- Degree in operations, supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Background leading a high-volume, automated pharmaceutical distribution operation.
- Knowledge of controlled substances, cold-chain product, hazardous materials, security controls, and regulatory audits.
