Business Finance Specialist - Commercial (Food) role supports the Food GM as finance co‑pilot, pairing mainly with Commercial while collaborating across Finance, Strategy, Product, and Marketing to drive success with restaurant partners and users. The role challenges commission rates, models partnerships, highlights margin traps, and informs the P&L story to leadership proactively.

• Work closely with the Food GM as finance co‑pilot— in weekly commercial steering meetings, strategy debates, and decision‑making sessions.
• Own the Food P&L end‑to‑end and craft the narrative around revenue, take‑rate, contribution margin, and the bottom line.
• Partner with Account Managers to shape restaurant strategy, commission structures, and joint plans that drive business results.
• Challenge commercial assumptions when data contradicts expectations and provide analysis to support alternative viewpoints.
• Create concise narrative summaries of complex P&L dynamics for GMs and leadership.
• Lead financial case studies for new initiatives—commission tiers, exclusivity deals, launch and marketing co‑investments—presenting ROI, payback, and risk.
• Co‑own promotional strategy with Commercial: model discount impact, basket math, customer LTV, and margin trade‑offs.
• Identify Food P&L risks and opportunities early and propose corrective actions.
• Build and maintain BI dashboards and data pipelines that bring the commercial P&L to life, providing actionable insights.

• Strong FP&A, commercial finance, or business partnering foundation with a record of influencing commercial leaders.
• Deep understanding of revenue models, unit economics, take‑rate, and margin levers.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and comfort with large, complex datasets.
• Ability to translate numbers into compelling stories and lead meetings at GM and leadership levels.
• Constructive, opinionated mindset that can push back when data contradicts the narrative.
• Experience operating in fast, ambiguous, high‑growth environments where structure is built as you go.
• 7+ years in FP&A, commercial finance, or business finance—ideally in food delivery, q‑commerce, marketplaces, e‑commerce, or similar tech‑enabled consumer businesses partnering with Commercial or Account Management.
• Knowledge of restaurant economics, pricing, promo mechanics, and customer incentives to spot margin leaks.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise planning tools (TM1, IBM Planning Analytics, or similar) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
