Business Finance Specialist - Commercial; Food Vertical

Most finance teams report the score. We help write it. As Business Finance Specialist - Commercial (Food), you’ll be the finance co‑pilot to the Food GM – partnering mainly Commercial, but also across Finance, Strategy, Product and Marketing to drive how we win with restaurant partners and users. You’re the one who challenges the commission rate, models the partnership, calls out the margin trap, and tells the P&L story to leadership before they ask.

• Sit next to the Food GM as their finance co‑pilot – in the weekly commercial steering meetings, in the strategy debates, in the rooms when the call gets made
• Own the Food P&L end‑to‑end and the story behind it: revenue, take‑rate, contribution margin, all the way to the bottom line
• Partner with Account Managers to shape restaurant strategy, commission structures, and the joint plans that actually move the business
• Push back on commercial assumptions when the numbers say something different – and bring the analysis to back it up
• Turn messy P&L dynamics into one‑page narratives that GMs and leadership can actually act on
• Lead the financial case for new bets – commission tiers, exclusivity deals, deal launches, marketing co‑invest – with sharp ROI, payback, and risk framing
• Co‑own promo strategy with Commercial: model the discount impact, the basket math, the customer LTV, the margin trade‑off
• Spot the risks and opportunities in the Food P&L before they show up in the actuals – and bring the fix
• Build and own the BI, dashboards, and data plumbing that bring the commercial P&L to life – turning messy data into the scorecards and self‑serve insights the GM and leadership team actually run the business off

• Strong FP&A, commercial finance, or business partnering foundation – with a track record of being the finance person commercial leaders actually want in the room
• Sharp grip on revenue models, unit economics, take‑rate, and margin – you know which lever moves what
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets and zero fear of large, messy datasets
• Can tell a story with numbers, and has the presence to hold the room at GM and leadership level
• Opinionated but constructive – happy to push back when the numbers tell a different story than the narrative
• Built to operate in fast, ambiguous, high‑growth environments where structure gets built as you go

• 7+ years in FP&A, commercial finance, or business finance – ideally in food delivery, q‑commerce, marketplaces, e‑commerce, or other tech‑enabled consumer businesses – partnering directly with Commercial or Account Management leaders
• You know restaurant economics, pricing, promo mechanics, and customer incentives well enough to know where margin gets made and where it leaks
• Hands‑on with enterprise planning tools (TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics or similar) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
