Position Overview

Allan Myers is seeking an Experienced Skilled Excavator Operator with a strong background in mainline pipe installation to join our Heavy Civil Construction team. The ideal candidate has at least 5+plus years of experience operating excavators in underground utility work and site development. This position plays a critical role in the safe and precise excavation for stormwater, sewer, and waterline systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate hydraulic excavators (e.g., Cat 320, 330, 336 or similar) to excavate trenches for storm, sanitary, and water mainline pipe installations.

* Work closely with pipe crews and foremen to ensure proper trench depth, slope, and bedding for utilities.

* Utilize GPS and/or laser-guided systems for accurate digging and grade control.

* Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, grade stakes, and utility layouts.

* Perform routine daily equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and report mechanical issues promptly.

* Ensure safe trenching practices in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

* Maintain clean and organized work zones and contribute to overall crew productivity.

Qualifications & Requirements

* Minimum 5 plus years of excavator operating experience in mainline pipe installation for heavy civil construction.

* Familiarity with GPS machine control systems is strongly preferred.

* Strong understanding of trench safety, soil conditions, and utility installation methods.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a coordinated pipe crew.

* Comfortable working in a physically demanding outdoor environment and various weather conditions.

* Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.

* Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
