Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO

Ozell Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to support a federal construction project at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia
. This position is responsible for implementing and managing the project's safety program while ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and contract requirements.

• Serve as the on-site Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) for a federal construction project
• Implement and enforce the project Accident Prevention Plan (APP)
• Conduct daily safety inspections and document findings
• Lead new employee safety orientations and weekly toolbox talks
• Review and approve Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and permits for definable features of work
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 requirements
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain daily safety reports, inspection logs, and required project documentation
• Coordinate with the Government, project management team, and subcontractors to promote a safe work environment
• Ensure all personnel utilize appropriate PPE and follow established safety procedures

• 5+ ye
  ars of construction safety experience
• Experience serving as an SSHO on federal construction projects
• Curre
  nt EM 385-1-1 certifications
• Curre
  nt First Aid/CPR/AED certification
• Ability to pass a federal background investigation

• Experience support
  ing USACE, NAVFAC, USMC, DoD, or other federal agencies
• Experience with renovation and occupied facility projects
• CQM-C certification
• Experience with Procore or similar construction management software.
