Summary
Student Internship position under the Pathways Internship Program located in the DEA Office of Training. Provides management functions and program operations support to the field office.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist with management and program planning and budget execution.
- Collect, analyze and present information related to current and future program/project workloads.
- Develop and coordinate routine reports, staff action items, correspondence, and related actions.
- Maintain suspense files to ensure timeliness of actions.
- Support field office operations and assist interns in gaining real‑world experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- Complete a background investigation, verification of qualifications, onboarding forms, and drug test.
- Intern is in a trial period throughout the entire Pathways Internship appointment.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and no grades below average.
- Sign a Participant Agreement outlining internship expectations.
- Type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
- Enroll in classes at least half‑time during the internship.
- Provide transcripts, proof of enrollment, or current class schedule.
- Use e‑Verify to confirm eligibility to work in the United States.
Students must be pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate at a full‑ or half‑time accredited institution, including high schools, colleges, community or junior colleges, professional, technical, vocational, trade schools, or advanced degree programs.
To qualify for a Student Trainee (Management and Program Analyst) at GS‑04:
- Complete 2 full academic years of post‑high‑school study or an associate’s degree.
- Undergraduate credit up to 120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours.
- Business or technical school: 36 weeks of study (20+ classroom hours per week) equals one academic year.
- Graduate education: 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours considered one year of full‑time study.
- Provide documentation verifying the interpretation of non‑traditional credit where necessary.
