Protestant Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE)
Part-Time | 15-20 Hours per Week | 1099 Independent Contractor | $20-$23 per Hour
Are you experienced in Christian education and comfortable working with families from a variety of Protestant traditions? Do you enjoy creating engaging programs that help children and youth grow in their faith?
The Role
Marine Corps Base Quantico Memorial Chapel is seeking a Protestant Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE) to lead and coordinate educational programs for children and youth within the Protestant faith community.
The successful candidate will work alongside chapel leadership to develop age-appropriate religious education programs, support volunteers, and coordinate activities that strengthen spiritual growth throughout the academic year.
This is a part-time 1099 independent contractor position requiring approximately 15-20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Protestant religious education programs for Pre-K through 12th grade
- Coordinate student registration and maintain program records
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer teachers
- Create annual educational plans and ministry calendars
- Coordinate children's church, Sunday school, Bible studies, and Awana programs
- Assist with Vacation Bible School planning and delivery
- Promote programs and events within the chapel community
- Maintain attendance records and program documentation
- Support chapel leadership with ongoing faith formation initiatives
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be of the Protestant faith
- Have a broad understanding of Protestant denominations
- Possess experience in religious education, ministry, or faith formation
- Be comfortable leading volunteers and coordinating programs
- Have strong organizational and communication skills
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Be able to complete required background checks and youth protection training
