Test Proctor - Academic Compliance - Quantico, VA

Position Overview

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is hiring a Test Proctor at Marine Corps Base – Quantico, VA. The proctor will ensure a secure testing environment and support regulatory compliance for high‑stakes examinations.

• Provide high quality customer service, reception, and accurate intake for all exam candidates at the testing center.
• Utilize professional proctoring procedures to support a secure exam environment.
• Administer and process online exams, department make‑up exams, special accommodation exams, and other external exams as assigned.
• Follow all exam security protocols at all times.
• Maintain credentials necessary to administer any high‑stakes certification examinations, including completion of annual qualification exams and certification through consistent protocol compliance.
• Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment by complying with governing regulatory guidelines, whether departmental or from external bodies.
• Assist in troubleshooting basic technology problems affecting exam administration.
• Assist with basic clerical work, data entry, and other support projects as directed.
• Maintain the exam center in a professional ready state, including equipment, furniture, and overall condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check.
• Understanding of cultural diversity and ability to conduct in a multicultural workplace.
• Consistently demonstrate high quality customer service.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft applications.
• Ability to provide a positive candidate experience.
• Discern exam taking potential violations and escalating to management as necessary.
• Handle situations when exam candidates must be dismissed for wrongful behavior.
• Ability to obtain certifications required by the designated exam center’s requirements.
• Physical ability to sit for long periods and escort candidates to and from the testing room.
• Comfortable in a quiet testing environment, hearing soft voices and seeing details from a distance.
