Paramedic

Paramedic

Duties shall include, but not limited to:

• advanced airway management,
• cardiac interventions,
• trauma resuscitation,
• pharmacology, and
• rapid decision making under pressure

The job shall include responding to training accidents that are physically demanding and high risk.

Stabilize critically ill or injured patients before hospital arrival

Rapid triage, trauma management, environmental emergencies, and high acuity medical events

Support highrisk events such as:

• Firearms ranges
• Defensive tactics
• Arrest techniques
• Physical fitness testing
• Large-scale events and graduations
• Specialized training evolutions

Shall deliver medical training to clinic staff, including:

• CPR/AED
• First aid
• Bleeding control
• Tourniquet use
• Heat injury prevention
• Hydration protocols
• Rapid Medical and Trauma assessment in the field
• Carries and Litters for evacuation

Maintain mission ready medical equipment:

• Trauma bags
• AEDs
• Oxygen systems
• Airway equipment
• Emergency kits for callouts and special events
• Zoll Propaq for cardiac monitoring

Licenses/Certifications:

Shall have the following:

• National Registry Paramedic Licensure and VA state licensure,
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS),
• minimum 3 years experienced as a Paramedic.
• Pediatric advanced Life Support (PALS) (optional)
