The contractor shall meet certification requirements of Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II as set forth in DODD 8140. Juniper or CISCO certified network professional or Extreme Networks Professional certification.
Education Required
:
This is an employee with skills, training and education at a professional level above Junior level. Education should include schools and certifications in a tier above what was completed in Junior level. Civilian education must be at least bachelor’s degree level plus three years’ work experience in the specific task. In lieu of this requirement, six years' total work experience in the specific task OR an associate's degree plus four years' work experience in the specific task may be substituted.
Description
The Network Engineer supports the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of communication nodes, automated systems, and associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct and assist Government personnel with the installation, testing, and maintenance of all network assets on the Department of Defense Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) on the JWICS-based network.
- Conduct and assist Government personnel with the installation, testing and maintenance of the Open-Source Information Systems (OSIS) network provided through the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the MAGTF Regional Area Network (MRAN) network provided through MCB Quantico G-6.
- Identify system problems due to system component connections and notify appropriate HQMC offices.
- Conduct bi-weekly test and document components for communications architectures.
- Conduct sustaining engineering support for the network systems.
- Assist Government personnel with installation design, install new cabling, equipment, and associated hardware and software to extend and enhance network systems.
- Assist Government personnel in the administration of network storage arrays and the Email Archiving System.
- Support the Microsoft Systems Update Server (SUS) and Systems Management Server (SMS).
- Assist Government personnel with the administration of the Command Storage Area Network Fiber Channel Routers and switches.
- Operate and maintain network management systems.
