Storage Administrator

Overview

CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Storage Administrator to provide senior level SAN support. This support includes in depth knowledge of operating and maintaining 40 NIPR/SIPR Net App storage nodes. The candidate must be familiar with Net App’s operating system ONTAP, System Manager, managing multiple clusters, setting up and managing Vservers and network LIFs.

Responsibilities include provisioning storage volumes and LUNs, implementing data protection with Snapshots, monitor performance and capacity management. In addition, support recovery procedures; hardware installation; security and access of Logical Unit Numbers (LUNS); and storage capacity and performance. The contractor shall configure all of aspects of the SAN hardware and software. The SAN infrastructure supports the virtual and physical server infrastructure; and fit-for-purpose file shares.

The configuration support requires expert knowledge of block & file-based storage presentations; software and hardware;
Windows operating systems; VMware; and networking technologies. The environment utilizes iSCSI, NFS and CIFS protocols with NVMe and SSD disks, TCP access technologies network-based connectivity methodologies. The environment is Net App and VMware based.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-

• Maintain the overall health of technologies associated with Storage Area Networks.

• Resolve SAN tickets escalated from the service desk to include executing the associated administrative activities and provide a weekly Messaging Status report for inclusion into a Weekly Status Report for the client.

• Provide SAN Capacity Reports and Performance Metrics on a monthly basis.

• Provide documentation, guidance and instruction to the Tier 1 service desk for handling standard Storage Area Network (SAN) related incidents, work orders and service requests.

• Provide guidance and instruction to the Tier I organizations for handling standard SAN related incidents and service requests.

• Provide SAN documentation to Tier I organizations on the procedures for completing SAN related tasks.

• Submit and execute SAN related Request for Change (RFC) tasks.

• Coordinate incident tickets between Tier II, Tier III, and other sections as required.

• Monitor the health of SANs with Government provided event management tools.

• Provide project support for SAN related technologies.

• Coordinate with the Engineering Team and other sections on SAN issues.

• Support change management process; submit requests through the Change Approval Board; and participate in Change Review Boards.

• Escalate product issues to third party product vendors upon Government approval.

• Implement thresholds to monitor tools and conduct proactive event remediation.

• Work closely with Government personnel to continually improve the SAN performance while recommending solutions that reduce the overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and increase the Government’s Return on Investment (ROI) for the SAN.

• Provide analysis and remediation for DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) for all responsible technologies in preparation for the annual Commanders Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI).

• Provision new storage to include LUNs, VMware data stores, and command shares as needed.

• Perform mailbox restores in conjunction with the Exchange team, utilizing Net App Single Mailbox Restore (SM ).

Required Experience, Education and

Certifications:

• In-depth understanding of iSCSI, CIFS, and NFS protocols.

• In-depth knowledge of VMware vCenter, HA, DRS

• In-depth understanding of Net App SAN Storage Technologies

• At least 5 years of experience with managing/configuring SAN storage devices

• Understanding of networking, In-depth knowledge of configuring Windows Server.

• Experience with Snap Center.

• Professional series Certification e Net App (NCDA), EMC (EMCISA), Virtualization cert.

• IAT III Certification (CASP+ce, CCNP Security, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH)

Security Clearance:

• Active Top Secret Clearance
