The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) System Administrator is responsible for administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity defense of all Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client and server infrastructure used to support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications and services for the NITE.
Essential ResponsibilitiesMaintains smooth operation of multi‑user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system‑wide software, allocating mass storage space, interacting with users, evaluating vendor products, recommending hardware and software purchases, coordinating installations, and providing backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for the allocation of computing resources.
Additional duties include performing Microsoft Windows server administration, managing GPOs, creating/modifying DHCP reservations, patching and STIG’ing, authoring standard operating procedures, and performing Tier 2 technical support. The individual must be able to work independently and within a team.
Minimum Qualifications- 6 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s in related field
- 4 years relevant experience with Master’s in related field
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience
- Must currently hold a DoW Secret clearance and be able to maintain it
- Security+ or equivalent certification required
- Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019 and Active Directory
- Experience digesting and implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
- Experience with patching Microsoft servers and workstations
- Experience with VMware
- Familiarity with VDI technologies and protocols
- Strong customer focus, the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience installing release upgrades highly preferred
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline.
