Summary The NITE Network Administrator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure on the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN). This role supports multiple networks across various classification levels, ensuring continuous, secure connectivity for customers and sites.

The position works closely with the Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) to provide helpdesk support, resolve connectivity issues, and maintain compliance with Information Assurance requirements. By maintaining operational excellence, you will help enable effective training, protect sensitive information, and ensure that Navy personnel have the network resources they need to succeed.

What you will do
* Operate, monitor, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and virtual private networks (VPN) to ensure smooth, reliable performance.
* Plan, install, configure, and reconfigure network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, multiplexers, hubs, bridges, and gateways.
* Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including WAN circuits, equipment failures, router/switch configurations, firewall ACLs, VoIP device setup, and cryptographic device/keying material.
* Coordinate with Navy, DISA, and commercial circuit providers for network implementation and issue resolution.
* Maintain Information Assurance compliance, including IOS upgrades, configuration changes, and firewall ACL verification.
* Support remote sites in restoring network operations after outages or failures.
* Prepare and maintain network documentation, including operational instructions and configuration records.
* Monitor network performance, conduct analysis, and provide recommendations for short- and long-term improvements.
* Coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment when required.
* Design network solutions, including hardware and software selection, to meet evolving operational needs.
